Never been mounted on handlebars. 5 gram weight and 7mm by 1mm threads. Tightening the screw shortens distance handle can travel so a small hand use it comfortably. The area for finger contact is 70mm long.
The brake lever fastening bolt which holds to handlebar, has 6mm by 1mm threads with an 18mm length , a 4. 8mm threads that anchor into a steel nut with an outer hex on the lower side of clamp. The SS-5 uses cold forged construction for the handle and clamp assembly that secures it to handlebar. The SS-5 has a small steel set screw with 2mm fitting near where lever fastens to clamp or bracket.
Made in japan. This set screw sets how far the lever springs forward to close once its been released. The adjuster is made of aluminum with a nylon washer on the top and another bottom reduce friction between handle clamp section as lever is used.
The handle has a dense black rubber sleeve to cushion users grip. The aluminum handle section is held to clamp with a steel bolt. The SS-5 handle and clamping system are black. Out of the box.
The SS-5 uses a two piece cable barrel adjuster set. 5 gram weight and a 5mm hex fitting. The pair weight of SS-5 levers complete is 173 grams. A coiled steel return spring helps to push the lever closed after its released.
The bolt has 5mm by. The handle has a 100mm length from bolt holding it to clamp section its tip. A black composite plastic nut will hold the adjusters position once set.
